The Unit

We provide a comprehensive service for adults and children in a range of general and surgical clinics. These services include skin surgery and Mohs surgery, phototherapy, patch testing, cellulitis clinics and lymphoedema clinics.

We provide care for patients with a wide range of dermatology conditions including eczema, psoriasis, skin cancers, Polymorphoric light eruptions, acne, urticaria, autoimmune skin conditions, and dermatology emergencies.

Our nurse-led day treatment clinic offers treatments such as iontophoresis and cryotherapy. The team here also remove sutures after dermatology surgical procedures, provide and change dressings, care for leg ulcers and can measure for compression stockings.

We also operate an outpatient service and provide care for hospital inpatients requiring intensive treatment.

Our Staff

We have a multidisciplinary team consisting of doctors and nurses at all grades, including 10 consultants, one nurse consultant and two nurse registrars.

Who Do We Work With?

The department is closely linked to the dermatology clinic at Cromer Hospital and the departments of plastic surgery, rheumatology, gynaecology and genito-urinary medicine in Norwich.

About Our Services

Dermatology Norwich

This is the largest dermatology department in Norfolk and Suffolk. We have specialists covering Dermatology outpatients, Cringleford outpatients, plastic surgery outpatients and Roundwell Medical Practice.

Cringleford Ward is home to our Dermatology day treatment and Cellulitis clinics.

The department is a training centre for dermatology doctors and nurses and also has close links with the University of East Anglia and the British Association of Dermatologists.

Dermatology Cromer

The Cromer dermatology service was initially launched as an offshoot from the Dermatology department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, led by a specialised doctor and nursing team. The doctors still work in both departments, but the nurses at Cromer and District Hospital have now created an individual unit which is able to offer the same specialised services as those available in Norwich.

There are now three medical consultants and a nurse consultant, which enables the service to offer a wide range of treatments and increase the number of people treated at Cromer. All consultants are based in Norwich and drive up to Cromer and District Hospital.

We'd love you to join us!

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is one of the largest employers in Norfolk, our staff work together to provide care for our local population.
